My Reptiles
This species of snake is a firm
favourite for me. I have built a
fantastic collection of colour and pattern mutations
(in my honest opinion). They are a stocky little rear
fanged snake with a distinctive upturned snout. The
species is full of character and I look
forward to the morph combinations that I can
produce each year.
Kingsnakes were my starting focus
when keeping snakes back in the
1990’s. They will always form part of
the collection. I have focussed on mostly keeping
Mountain and Montane region Kingsnakes. With
their smaller size and amazing colours they are
must have for any reptiles keeper.
Ciliatus
Like most reptile keepers, I found it
hard to ‘only’ keep snake species in
the collection over the years and I
have kept a range of lizards from
geckos to skinks to water dragons. So, I wanted to
make sure I had, at the very least, a couple of nice
display enclosures in my home that housed a cool
lizard species. The Crested Geckos were my top
choice for a display setup. They are an impressive
arboreal species which comes in an impressive
selection of colours and patterns, does not grow
large and they turned out to be a great way for my
two children to find their love for Reptiles.
